Kerkyra - pentru localnici, Corfu Town - pentru turisti
Corfu se numeste Kerkyra in greaca derivandu-si numele din mitologica nimfa Korkira, fiica zeului raurilor, Aesopos. Potrivit mitologiei, Poseidon, zeul marii, se indragostise de Korkira, o rapise si o aduse pe insula; de atunci insula i-a purtat numele.
Orasul, situat pe coasta de est a insulei, intr-un golf superb, este cu adevarat o capodobera arhitecturala,
un labirint de strazi inguste dominate de fortareata din secolul 16.
Centrul este asemanator Venetiei – italienii fiind cei care au construit mare parte a orasului in secolele XVI si XVII.
Insula Corfu nu a fost niciodata cucerita de turci iar locuitorii sunt extrem de mandri de acest lucru. Kerkyra este un oras care imbina arhitectura venetiana cu cea franceza, tipic mediteraneeana si cu unele influente balcanice.

la fel si aici. Incadrari foarte bune, dar expunerea slaba. Nu se vad bine nici culorile din pacate
